Things I Love
Believe it or not, there ARE things out there that I like.
-
Orange things. (Computers, socks, purses, cars, fruits…)
- Cheeseburgers. Done rare, with everything but mayo, and fries and a chocolate shake on the side. That’s perfection.
-
Coco Chanel.
-
Fruit, especially berries.
-
Black leather.
-
Fluffy, air-popped popcorn with real butter and a little salt.
- Salt. God, I love salt.
-
Taegeuk Chil Jang (“The Mountain”).
-
My Onitsuka Tiger furry sneakerboots.
- Mineral makeup.
-
Going out to eat.
-
The search box on iTunes. That alone made my 16,000-song music collection manageable.
-
Karl Lagerfeld. Karl is the fucking man. He’s German, he’s Chanel, and he’s probably the only septugenarian who can rock skinny jeans.
-
The fact that about 90% of my AmEx monthly charges are food-related.
-
Anything Tokidoki. They are pairing with Onitsuka Tiger to make shoes this spring. I will be purchasing every single variety. KAWAIIIIIII!
-
Desserts. I could not live without sweets. Some of my all-time favorites include Marseille’s pistachio panna cotta, the bread puddings at Craft and Tavern on the Green, fresh ice cream or gelato in any flavor, gulab jamun or rice pudding from the Delhi Palace… but the list is unending. I fall in love with a new food every day.
Actually, looking this over, “Things I Love” can actually be divided into just two categories: Haute Cuisine and Haute Couture. Yup.
